What is Hajj?

Hajj is the annual pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, that Muslims are required to undertake at least once in their lifetime if they are physically and financially able. As the fifth pillar of Islam, it represents the pinnacle of devotion and submission to Allah.

The pilgrimage takes place during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah and commemorates the trials and sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), his wife Hajar, and their son Ismail.
