About Hadith
Hadith are the collected sayings, actions, and silent approvals of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). They serve as a crucial source of Islamic law, guidance, and wisdom, second only to the Quran. The science of hadith developed rigorous methods to authenticate and categorize these narrations.
The most respected collections are known as the "Six Books" (Kutub al-Sittah), compiled by scholars who traveled extensively to gather and verify hadiths through chains of narrators (isnad). Each hadith typically consists of two parts: the chain of narrators and the text (matn) of the narration itself.
Hadiths are classified based on their authenticity, with categories including Sahih (authentic), Hasan (good), Da'if (weak), and Mawdu (fabricated). The collections presented here focus primarily on authentic hadiths that provide guidance for Muslims in matters of faith, worship, ethics, and daily life.
